The First Friday session for March in our Brown Bag Lunch and Learn Series will be “Citation Situation,” presented by Theresa McDevitt and Carrie Bishop, faculty librarians at IUP.
Librarians support the development of students’ research skills by working independently or with teaching faculty to create presentations, tutorials, and other instructional materials that help students learn to create acceptable bibliographic citations in standard formats and select reliable and authoritative sources.
In order to provide the highest level of support to faculty and promote student academic success, librarians’ instructional content should be in sync with what course instructors prefer. This session will share and discuss the results of a Fall 2016 survey of IUP teaching faculty opinions about what is acceptable in student citation and source quality.
Join Theresa and Carrie this Friday, March 3, at noon in Stabley 101 to learn about the “Citation Situation” at IUP. If you plan to come, please RSVP (and send us any questions you might have)!
