Say thanks at IUP Philanthropy Day on Thursday, February 23!
Stop by
Stapleton Library Commons and write a thank-you note or two to IUP donors. Tell them what
their generosity means to you. While you’re there, enjoy refreshments and take
a turn in the photo booth. Those who complete
a thank-you postcard will receive a Philanthropy Day t-shirt, while supplies last.
Everyone at IUP—faculty, staff, and especially students—are
invited to celebrate the
generosity of those who support IUP with philanthropic generosity.
The celebration takes place from 11:00 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m. President Michael Driscoll, Professor Justin Fair, and students who have benefited from scholarship support will make remarks at 11:00 a.m. This event
will also kick off the Give to the Grove student philanthropy project, which supports the tree inventory and health of IUP’s iconic Oak Grove.
You can continue
the conversation in social media by telling IUP donors why you are thankful for them by using #ChangeOurWorld. Be sure to check out the Snapchat geofilter while
you’re there, too!
Last year, 8,716
alumni, employees, students, parents, friends, and corporations and foundations
made gifts of varying sizes in support of IUP.
“Philanthropy
Day is one of my favorite days of the year. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet up with so many people across campus to offer our thanks to those
who support the IUP student experience and make it even better,” said Emily
Smeltz, director of Annual Giving. “Our donors invest in our
students and in our collective work because they know that we are educating
tomorrow’s leaders and problem solvers. We are able to provide an experience
that wouldn’t be possible without their philanthropy. Whether they support a scholarship or a program, donors to the Foundation for IUP
are difference makers. IUP Philanthropy Day is our chance to offer due
thanks and also to educate our entire campus community about the impact that
philanthropy has on us all. It’s really a win-win for all involved.”
