Four educator education programs have received national recognition for meeting the highest standards from their professional associations. This recognition is the formal affirmation given to a program meeting the stringent standards set forth by their specialized organization.

The English Education program under the coordination of Jo-Anne Kerr, the Literacy Program under the coordination of DeAnna Laverick, the Mathematics Education Program under the coordination of Brian Sharp, and the Social Studies Education Program under the coordination of Werner Lippert are recognized. We should also thank the faculty and students in these programs, for without them this honor would not be possible.

We are proud of our programs’ accomplishments and recognize that accreditation from our specialized associations helps us to better prepare our candidates to meet the growing needs of the field of education. This recognition is a quality assurance that demonstrates our willingness to meet the standards set by the organizations representing the academic community. This acknowledgement gives those programs the seal of approval that assures quality in educator preparation.
