Literature, history, civil rights, free speech, sociology, pop culture, LGBTQ issues—They’re all a part of the epic battle over the publication of Allen Ginsberg’s “Howl,” the landmark Beat poem of the 50s.

That’s why the English Department will conclude this semester’s Student Film Series with the 2010 production of Howl, starring James Franco. It will be shown for free starting at 5:00 p.m. in the Humanities and Social Sciences building, room 225, on Wednesday, November 30. Attendance vouchers provided.
