On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, 20 students from the Criminal Justice Living Learning Community, which is housed in Delaney Hall, traveled to State Correctional Institute Pine Grove for a tour of the facility. With the help of our Living Learning Partner Dennis Giever and SCI Pine Grove Corrections Superintendent Assistant Judy Smith, our students had the unique opportunity to tour Pine Grove.

While on the tour, students were given the opportunity to view the facility and were given access to certain areas of the facility. Particular of note: students were given a tour of a cell, the classroom wing of the facility, the dining facility, and the outside recreation area.

This tour was beneficial to our students as it took students outside of the classroom and showed them potential career opportunities for them in the criminal justice field, which we consider to be true living-learning.
