The English Graduate Student film series continues next Wednesday, November 9, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in room 225 of the Humanities and Social Sciences building with a screening of two episodes of the television series Agent Carter.
In 1946, Peggy Carter is relegated to secretarial duties in the Strategic Scientific Reserve. When Howard Stark is accused of treason, he secretly recruits Peggy to clear his name with the help of his butler, Edwin Jarvis.
After the screening, there will be a discussion about feminism, sexism in the workplace, and challenges women still face today. This screening is perfectly timed to come after the most historic presidential election to date, so come on out to participate in what will be a very lively discussion.
If you are teaching, please tell your students about this great event. Faculty and students are welcome. Attendance vouchers will be available if you want to offer your students extra credit for attending.
