The Department of Communication Disorders, Special Education, and Disability Services wants to thank the IUP community for making the Sixth Annual Confections for a cause a HUGE success!

Confections for a Cause is a huge bake sale with the goal of raising money for the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation. This year, we raised $1,540, which exceeded last year’s total of $1,409. Every year of this event, we raise more and more money because of tremendous support from the IUP community. Thank you for making it a huge success again this year!

We thank Vickie Johnson, Celia Barber, and Shari Robertson for their organization of this event. We had donations of baked goods from members of the local community and family members of those who have faced ovarian cancer.

We also thank our student groups who helped out by baking, organizing, accepting donations during the event, and selling other merchandise. We could not do this event without you.

  • Audiology Student Association
  • Best Buddies
  • Council on Exceptional Children
  • National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association
  • Sign Language Club

We raffled off a blanket this year during the event, and Jan Baker won the raffle!

The money raised will go to the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation, which seeks to raise awareness of the disease, find an early detection test for ovarian cancer, and find improved treatments for the disease.

Thank you IUP, and we look forward to hosting this event again next fall.
