There is still time to reserve your spot at the 2016 University Museum benefit gala, “A 40th
Anniversary Celebration in Black and White.” The Gala will be held Friday, October 14, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. in John Sutton Hall on the IUP campus.
Those attending will be treated to live performances of jazz standards from the start of the Swing Era, with special guest musicians and a Busby Berkeley musical style performance by IUP Dance Theater.
For refreshments, guests will be treated to culinary finery, including Louisiana crab cakes, Steak Diane, and delectable crème brulee. among a host of other delicacies and specialty cocktails. Attendees are invited to don their black and/or white attire—anything from white tie to polka dots.
As part of the gala, a variety of items donated by local businesses and individuals will be offered during silent and live auctions. Those attending will have the chance to bid on several pieces of breathtaking, sparkling Austrian crystal Sabika jewelry (pictured), fine art, cooking class
and dinner for six with Miss Laurie, fresh floral arrangements monthly for one year, and more. All bids must be placed in person at the Gala, and a tax deduction is available on the amount paid above the fair market value.
Reservations, which need to be made in advance, are still being accepted through October 6, and the cost is $125 per person. The invitation and reservation card are both
