interns recently sponsored the community and kids’ tents at the
Indiana Farmer’s Market’s Health and Wellness Day
on Saturday, September 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the parking lot on Church and 8th streets in downtown Indiana. This event featured
free samples and activities for all ages.

on the many benefits of consuming these products,” said Jason Nepa, IUP

can apply some of the concepts they learn in their science class to food, while
creating a delicious, healthy treat,” said Seybold.
interns are graduate students in the Department of Food and Nutrition who are learning through practice to become registered dietitians. One
component of their internship is to provide nutrition counseling and education to both the IUP and Indiana communities.
“We want our
communities to be healthier. Donating our time and knowledge surrounding
food and nutrition is something that nutrition professionals are
passionate about,” said Seybold.
