Thirteen IUP students majoring in English education, early childhood and special education, theater, communications media, and marketing are participating in the 2016 Oxford Summer Study Abroad Program that runs from July 16 until August 6, 2016, at St. Edmund Hall in England. The students will engage in intensive studies in English and theater as they tour historic, cultural, and literary sites.
IUP theater professor Rick Kemp teaches five Shakespearean plays in his theater criticism course, and IUP English professor and program director Linda Norris is teaching British Young Adult Literature with featured authors Lewis Carroll, J.R.R.Tolkien, C.S.Lewis, and J.K.Rowling. The group is also visiting Stonehenge, Bath, and Windsor Castle, as well as the Globe Theater, one of many sites in London, as IUP ambassadors during their three-week study abroad.
