IUP Staff Members Present at Technology Conference

The 2016 Pennsylvania Banner User Group (PABUG) Technology Days Conference was held on May 31 and June 1 at Duquesne University. IUP cosponsored the event with California, Edinboro, and Slippery Rock in support of fellow cosponsor and host Duquesne.

Several IUP IT staff members presented and led panels and specialist discussions. Doug Rutledge, who coordinated the conference speakers, also provided a presentation on “IUP Mobile 2.2. Patrick McDevitt presented on uUsing Luminis to help retain students from admission through their first semester” and led the discussion on student portals.

Paul Grieggs and Bill Balint provided a presentation on iIdentity management and security issues for Banner and Ellucian”. Balint, who founded the PABUG Technology Days Conference in 2003, was the conference organizer and also led a panel discussion on “Banner integration in an ever-more complex IT environment.

Jeff Montgomery led the discussion session for application development, and Todd Cunningham served on the ““Through the Looking Glass: Examining Unconscious Gender Bias in Technology”” panel.
