Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s master’s program in nutrition has been recognized by Affordable Colleges Online, an education and industry resource for online education information for having one of the best online programs in the nation.

Online Masters Program in Nutrition Ranked in Top 20 Affordable CollegesIUP’s program was ranked 15th in the nation by the publication. Programs were ranked based on number of online master’s degrees available at the institution, graduate tuition and fees, academic and career counseling services, job placement for graduates and an online peer-based value, comparing the cost of each program to the cost of similar programs with the same qualitative score.

“Our master’s degree in Food and Nutrition provides a high quality, flexible, affordable opportunity for those who would like to complement their existing knowledge with a specialization in nutrition, or to advance those practicing as registered dietitians in the workplace,” Dr. Stephanie Taylor-Davis, IUP faculty member in the Food and Nutrition Department and graduate coordinator, said.

“Graduates are able to advance their careers by completing the program as quickly as 16-months or on a part-time basis with up to five years to fulfill degree requirements.  Graduate assistantships (compensated with a tuition waiver and stipend) provide an additional professional development opportunity for students who can work on campus.”

IUP’s online degree focuses on human and applied nutrition, critical for real-life situations. Graduates of the program are prepared to provide leadership that influences and contributes to the food and nutrition arena, translate important nutrition information to the public and utilize new knowledge to lead the battle against nutrition-related chronic diseases and toward nutrition and wellness.

In order for universities to qualify for this ranking they must be public, not for profit, institutions and offer at least five online master’s degrees.
