On April 2, Demi Richardson (English) presented a paper, “The Modern Feminist: Kesha and Psychoanalytic Theory in Man’s Fate,” at the Annual Western Pennsylvania Undergraduate Literature Conference at the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown.

Richardson was one of six presenters from IUP at this conference celebrating the University of Pittsburgh’s “Year of the Humanities.” Other presenters included students from the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown, Dusquene University, St. Francis University, St. Vincent College, and Pennsylvania State University, Altoona.

Richardson’s paper considered how the presentation of feminist theory in a novel from 1933 helps us to understand the challenges women make to male dominated industries.
