A quality academic conference allows scholars the opportunity to remain in touch with their ever-evolving fields of study.

April 29, 2016, marks the seventh annual Laurel Highlands Communications Conference, which will be housed at Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex. Sponsored by the Department of Communications Media, this conference has acted as a communication- and media-based symposium for regional scholars to gather to discuss contemporary academic breakthroughs and developments in the field. It is an opportunity for young scholars to gain valuable experience presenting their research early in their careers. Similarly, veterans of the field can continue honing their skills while sharing their works with their colleagues and compatriots.

Conference sessions will run between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break and a 30-minute keynote address by Miami University Professor John Tchernev. Prior to working in academia, Tchernev spent eight years in Los Angeles working in television and film development. For more information about the conference, please visit the Laurel Highlands Communications Conference website.

We openly welcome all members of the IUP community to attend. All those interested in attending can register through the IUP Marketplace. All questions can be directed to Steven Kleinman, conference chair, through his e-mail at Kleinman@iup.edu.
