Ballet Master Radchenko to Present Pre-Performance Talk

Sergei RadchenkoAs part of its presentation of the Moscow Festival Ballet in a performance of Peter Tchaikovsky’s ballet Swan Lake on March 28, 2016, the Lively Arts will host a pre-show question-and-answer session with the company’s founder and artistic director, Sergei Radchenko. 

Audience members with tickets to the performance are invited to attend the 6:00 p.m. session in Fisher Auditorium. Those attending are asked to arrive by approximately 5:45 p.m.The talk hosted by IUP dance professor Joan Van Dyke. Russian exchange student Galiya Nasertdinova will provide interpretation. The ticket office will open early at 5:30 p.m. that evening with the performance starting at 7:00 p.m.

Born in 1944, Radchenko graduated from the Moscow School of Dance in 1964 and then joined the Bolshoi Ballet, where he worked for 25 years. He presents a large number of master classes, inviting leading teachers from the Bolshoi and Mariinsky theaters to ensure the continuation of the rich traditions of the Russian classical school.

Tickets for the Moscow Festival Ballet’s performance of Swan Lake are available now either online, or the Lively Arts’ online ticketing site. They can also be purchased at the Hadley Union Building ticket office on the IUP campus or by calling the HUB ticket office at (724) 357-1313.

Seats remaining will be sold at the door starting one hour prior to the performance. Tickets are priced at $40 for regular admission, $34 for seniors and groups, and $18 for students and children.
