Issues of Diversity: Voices From the Field kicks off its spring 2016 offerings on March 16. It will host the first working papers session on March 16 in 113 Stapleton Library.
The panel, “What Kind of University Community Are We? — A Preliminary Report of Findings from the IUP Campus Climate Study,” will provide an overview of the university Campus Climate Study that is currently in progress. The study is being conducted to get a better sense of the experiences and reflections of a cross-section of the university related to equity, safety, and feeling included as part of the community.
In this interactive panel, Melanie Hildebrandt and Melissa Swauger will provide an update on the status and preliminary findings of the IUP Campus Climate Study, explain next steps, and invite further consideration of how to make IUP a more welcoming institution to all who come here.
All Issues of Diversity sessions meet from 11:45 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
This is the first of eight sessions that are scheduled for this semester. Additional session dates are available at the Frederick Douglass Institute for Intercultural Research website. Bring a brown bag lunch and join the conversation!
