On February 29,
2016, the Delaney Suites Social Justice Living Learning Community, in
collaboration with the African American Culture Center, hosted a program in
celebration of black history month titled “An Evening with Dr. Melvin
Jenkins, talking about race and the important role the Tuskegee Airmen played
in World War II.” The program took place
in Wallwork Hall G98 and had an attendance of 47 students.
Jenkins
highlighted important contributions African Americans have made throughout
history and was able to emphasize that without black history there would be no
American history.
