Sara Ellenberger, textbook director at the Co-op Store, was invited to present at the Independent College Bookstore Association (ICBA) conference in Orlando. Her presentation was one of three on the panel “Game Changers: Innovation That Has Made a Difference.”
Ellenberger presented on the topics of nontraditional textbook sourcing and market-based pricing, which have enabled her to dramatically reduce the cost of textbooks for students at IUP. Her work, and the work of her textbook department staff, in these areas as well as textbook rentals and ebooks saved IUP students nearly $220,000 for the spring 2016 term alone.
Ellenberger is a board member for the Middle Atlantic College Stores Association, and in March she will begin serving on the Course Materials and Academic Resources Council for the National Association of College Stores.
