The Science Inspires lecture series started off with a talk on stereotype threat by Professor Susan Zimny of the IUP Psychology Department. Zimny’s talk discussed the implications in research that stem from a situation where the subjects of that research feel at risk of confirming a negative stereotype.
The next Science Inspires lecture will be held on March 17. Herman Sintim of Purdue University will give a talk titled "The Bacteria Resistance Problem and Why We Should Care" in Eberly Auditorium. The lecture will be followed by a public reception in the Eberly atrium.
