Several new employees have joined IUP and the University
David Maudie ’87 was named development officer and is
assigned to work with the College of Education and Educational Technology.
Maudie came to IUP after an extensive tenure in similar positions with the Boy
Scouts of America, which followed a teaching career. As an IUP student, he competed
on the track and field team. He was inducted into
the IUP Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006.
Valorie Higgins was named development officer and is
assigned to the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. She came to IUP
from Upper Iowa University, where she served in a similar position. Higgins is
a graduate of South Dakota State University.
With the addition of Maudie and Higgins, the University
Advancement Division now has a development officer assigned to each of the
university’s colleges. In 2015, Anthony Cancro M’12 joined the staff as a
development officer assigned to the College of Fine Arts, Amy Gardner ’99 as a development officer assigned to the Eberly College of Business and
Information Technology, and Chrystie Raymond as a development
officer assigned to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Michelle Chase joined the Development Research Office. A
former senior strategic intelligence analyst for the National Drug Intelligence
Agency, Chase earned her bachelor’s degree at St. Francis University and her juris
doctorate degree at the University of Baltimore School of Law.
