The renowned dance company RIOULT Dance NY is presenting a special dance
masterclass for dance students, ages 9–12, from 6:00–7:00 p.m. on Thursday,
February 18, in the Rehearsal Studio of the IUP Performing Arts Center.

class at 7:00 p.m. to audition for a part in RIOULT's February 23 performance
in Fisher Auditorium of its family-friendly dance piece, Fables.
The masterclass is on modern dance and is designed to introduce the student
to modern dance technique and vocabulary. Students will learn elements of
“contraction and release,” explore rhythmic diversity and the power
of music through movement, and continue to develop their skills and discipline.
Fables is based on the work of Aesop and the Indian fables of Bidpaj.
Selected students will have the opportunity to rehearse with RIOULT dancers in
a four-day residency that will prepare them to perform on stage in Fables. Students will be auditioning for the role of an Ant, of which there are seven
