The IUP Crimson Hawks men’s basketball team is hosting a Pet Supply Drive and Adoption event in the DeChurch Lobby of the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex (KCAC) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at its game on Wednesday, February 3. The  Crimson Hawks will take on Mercyhurst at 7:30 p.m.

The Pet Supply Drive will benefit the Indiana County Humane Society (ICHS). The ICHS is a nonprofit animal welfare organization dedicated to preventing cruelty and suffering to all animals, providing safe haven and compassion to the animals in our care, placing unwanted animals in permanent, responsible homes, investigating and prosecuting cases of animal cruelty, measurably reducing companion animal overpopulation, and taking a leadership role in promoting humane values for the benefit of all animals.

A raffle will also be held from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at the ICHS table. Entrants will have a chance to win four tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters will perform at the KCAC on Tuesday, March 29. All entrants that do not win are still able to turn in their raffle ticket at the KCAC Box Office until March 23 to receive a special discount on Globetrotters tickets for select selections. Although no purchase or donation is necessary to participate in the raffle, entrants are encouraged to bring a donation for the supply drive.

The ICHS is looking for the following donations:

  • Cat litter (any brand)
  • Heavy-duty garbage bags
  • Bleach
  • Laundry detergent (any brand)
