The university community is invited to attend the webinar “Strategies for Supporting Trans and Gender-Nonconforming Youth” on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. in G12 Ruddock Hall. The session will cover areas such as housing, facilities, health services, admissions, and the classroom.
A rapidly growing number of students are coming out as trans and gender non-binary before and when they enter college, but many faculty and staff lack even a basic understanding of how to meet these needs and create a more inclusive campus.
This webinar, by Genny Beemyn, will discuss the complex ways that students understand and express their gender identity, and will talk about best practices and policies to support trans and gender-nonconforming students.
