Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Women’s and Gender Studies program, along with the departments of History, Sociology, Anthropology, and Art, are hosting an exhibition titled “Global Images of U.S. Women.”

The exhibition will be presented in room 103 of the new IUP Humanities and Social Sciences building. The building officially opens with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on January 22, 2016, but will be open for classes with the start of the spring semester on January 19. The building is located between Clark Hall and Sutton Hall along Grant Street.

“Global Images of U.S. Women” is a collection of postcard-sized drawings from around the world of what people think about American women. It will be on display from January 12 to February 26.

A special lecture about the exhibition will be held on January 25 at 5:00 p.m. in room 104 of the building. Speakers for this presentation are Barbara Westman, professor of art, and Cindy Lacom, director of Women’s Studies, both of Slippery Rock University.

The exhibition and lecture are open and free to the community.
