Wender Presents on “Social Justice and a Disability Lens” at National Conference of Teachers of English

Emily Wender (English) presented her work on teaching young adult literature through a disability lens at the National Conference of Teachers of English in Minneapolis, Minn., on November 21, 2015. Her talk was titled “Marcelo in the Real World: Social Justice and a Disability Lens.”

Wender also just published this work in a co-authored chapter titled “Teaching and Reading Wonder and Marcelo in the Real World with Critical Eyes” in the edited collection Lessons in Disability: Essays on Teaching with Young Adult Literature.
