Social Studies Students Attend PCSS Conference

Students majoring in History/Social Studies Education attended the Pennsylvania Council of Social Studies Conference (PCSS) in Harrisburg from Oct 15 to 17. This was the 62nd annual PCSS conference and this year's attendees explored Conceptual Teaching and Learning for the 21st Century Social Studies Classroom.

IUP students joined other education students and teachers from across the state in discussing the significance of social studies education and methods for improving education.

Samantha Berk and Joseph Yaure, SSED majors in the History department, discussed the pedagogical use of games in a presentation titled "Game On: Using Tabletop Games in the Social Studies Classroom."
