Lorraine Guth, Counseling, was awarded a sabbatical to engage in a
teaching, research, and service project in Malawi, Africa.
In summer 2015,
she worked with Africa University of Guidance, Counseling and Youth
Development to provide group work training to students and faculty; collaborate
with two primary schools to pilot psychoeducational group lessons that she
wrote; collect data about the growth and challenges regarding counseling in
Malawi; deliver a keynote presentation at the second international counseling
conference; and write a manuscript about the history of school counseling in

University Senate Research Committee Small Grant to help support this project.
