Sociologist Molina to Discuss Environmental Discrimination and Sustainability

Posted on 9/30/2015 2:34:56 PM

Please join Hilario Molina (Sociology) in a discussion of his current research on environmental discrimination and how the “poor” are excluded from sustainability. The discussion will take place on Monday, October 5, from 5:00–6:00 p.m. in the Susquehanna Room in the HUB.

Summary:

As a society, we are aware of climate change; yet, inner-city communities (high poverty areas) are structurally excluded from the active engagement. Inasmuch, these communities are alienated from sustainability initiatives.

This talk is part of the newly created Sustainability Studies minor.
