A member of IUP’s Council of Trustees has created a scholarship in memory of his late wife.
Gealy Wallwork, of Indiana, has given a gift in excess of $52,000, to create an endowed scholarship for students majoring in English at IUP.
The Betty Anne Boone Wallwork Scholarship will be awarded to full-time students who are U.S. citizens. Preference will be given to students who have at least a 3.0 GPA and who demonstrate financial need. The scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters.
“This endowment creates a lasting legacy in Mrs. Wallwork’s memory, but it also provides true and tangible assistance to a hard-working student,” Bill Speidel, vice president for University Advancement. “Mr. Wallwork’s service to the university has been extraordinary, and this gift is an incredible gesture. We are grateful for his leadership and for his charitable investment in our students.”
