IUP’s faculty artists from the Department of Art are featured in the
opening exhibition of the University Museum 2015–16 season, Triennial 2015.
The exhibit will run September 12–October 17, 2015.
The works created and
collected by the IUP art faculty enrich the experiences of their students in
the classroom each semester. These inspirational works will now be shared with
the community through this group exhibition. The collaborative Triennial
exhibition provides varied styles and mediums to interest and inspire the most
diverse of audiences.
features works by Sean Derry, Tony DiMauro, Ivan Fortushniak, BA Harrington, Nathan
Heuer, Maura Keeney, Steve Loar, Sharon Massey, Chris McGinnis, Susan
Palmisano, Bob Sweeny, Marissa Sweeny, Kevin Turner, and Rhonda Yeager.
The exhibit also
includes works from the private collections of art historians Irene Kabala,
Brenda Mitchell, and Penny Rode.
An art historian and
faculty member, Mitchell describes the items in her private collection as
representing a personal or professional relationship. Of the artists whose work
she collects, Mitchell states that “Each artist has taught me something
important and made me think in new ways about the world we live in.”
