The third annual Northern Appalachian Folk Festival will be held in downtown Indiana on September 11 and 12, 2015, with headlining acts that include Rusted Root and Coastal Remedy. This free public festival will once again offer live music, workshops, visual art, food vendors, children’s activities, and, new this year, storytelling, dance, and a car show.
The Northern Appalachian Folk Festival is dedicated to preserving the past, promoting the present, and securing the future of of a variety of music, art, folkways, and other forms of cultural expression of the Northern Appalachian region. The IUP Center for Northern Appalachian Studies is proud to partner with local and regional community, business, and civic organizations to plan this event.
Entering its third year, the Folk Festival will include an expanded lineup of local and regional performers, including Chris Higbee, Bastard Bearded Irishmen, Unknown String Band, Melville Walbeck, Wolves In Sheep’s Clothing, and Luckenbach Penna Pickers.
