The Indiana County Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Organization members recently attended the monthly Lunch and Learn hosted by the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology.

Lunch and Learn June 2015

Ellen Ruddock, director of the Center for Family Business, introduced the group to the Management Services Group including the Center for Family Business, Small Business Incubator, Small Business Development Center, Small Business Institute, Entrepreneurial Excellence Center, Government Contracting Assistance Office, and the WEDnetPA Job Training Program.

Ruddock was asked to talk with the Young Professionals about her career as an entrepreneur. She spoke about the advantages and risks of owning your own business and the many opportunities she has had throughout her career. Ruddock believes “there is always someone looking for the right person.”  She advised the young audience of attorneys, bankers, doctors, and business owners to “be visible” and become known for the things you love to do.”

Robert Boldin and Daniel Lawson, finance professors at Eberly, provided a brief tour of the Eberly Trading Room following the luncheon meeting.
