The IUP Community Music School’s Crimson Children’s Choir will present a spring concert at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Trinity United Methodist Church, located on 4th Street between School and Church streets in Indiana.
Under
the direction of IUP graduate student in music Jessica Zelenack, and accompanied by Patti Sands, the program
follows a theme of happiness and hope, as personified by young children and
joyful singers. It will feature many of
today’s popular composers of children’s vocal music.
The
concert will also feature several private voice students from the IUPCMS who study with Zelenack, as well as IUP’s Crimson Chords Vocal Jazz
group.
The ensemble has enjoyed a great semester of learning and making music, and has already performed for residents at the St. Andrews Retirement Community. All members of the Indiana community are invited to come and experience the joy these students have found in music this semester.
Admission is free. A suggested donation of $5 regular and $3 for seniors/children will be gratefully accepted in helping to offset the administrative cost of the school. For more information, e-mail community-music@iup.edu or call the Lively Arts at 724-357-2787 (ARTS).
