The Indiana University of Pennsylvania student chapter of
Meeting Professionals International will host a “Special Event Institute”
on April 25, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Ackerman Hall for any students
interested in special events.
During the event, students will have the chance to
participate in a panel discussion with various industry professionals, and will
be able to network and to learn about event strategy and planning, performance
management, personal training and development, and responsibility and
Meeting Professionals International is an organization
focused on professionalism and knowledge of the special events and meeting
planning industry. It also focuses on the importance of structure and its vital
role in achieving success in the field of meetings and events.
“We are encouraging all student leaders to attend this
event, as they are sure to gain knowledge that will aid in the planning and
coordinating of campus events,” Terraine Johnson, treasurer for IUP’s chapter
of Meeting Professionals International, said. IUP’s chapter includes 25
students. Attendance is open to students from any major, Johnson said.
