Ed Bouchette, voted by his peers from around the country as
the 2014 pro football reporter of the year, will speak at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April
17, in Beard Auditorium in Stouffer Hall.
All IUP students, faculty, and staff are invited to this
program sponsored by the department of
journalism and public relations. Bouchette, the Pittsburgh Steelers beat writer for the Pittsburgh
Post-Gazette for more than 30 years who has covered 31 Super Bowls, will be on
campus to receive a Distinguished Alumni Award Saturday evening.
A 1973 business management graduate, he became a part of the
Pro Football Hall of Fame in August in Canton, Ohio, when he received the Dick
McCann Award for “long and distinguished contributions to pro football through
coverage.” This honor, voted on by
members of the Professional Football Writers of America, is named for Dick
McCann, the first director of the Hall of Fame.

of Fame Selection Committee who has written for the Post-Gazette since 1983,
