Marketing students serve ice cream during Marketing Day on April 1. Marketing Day was held on April 1, 2015, from noon to 4:00 p.m. in the Eberly College of Business and Information Technology Atrium.

The goal of Marketing Day was to promote the Marketing Department to undecided students, as well as to help bring faculty and students closer together. This ice cream social also allowed students to ask questions about the department, get to know other marketing students, and familiarize themselves with the professors.

About 200 people showed up throughout the day to enjoy the ice cream that was being served by Marketing faculty and students. On display at the event were advertising student projects and research boards from the master’s level classes. A representative from Pearson Learning was also in attendance to conduct focus groups with business students on a new program they are developing.

Marketing faculty and students enjoy Marketing Day on April 1.“It was really exciting,” said Valerie Gauvain, a marketing major and president of SMA. “Students were really interested in the Marketing Department and asked a lot of questions. We were also happy to see professors bring their classes down for a quick break.”

The event was made possible through the support of the Marketing Department, the Student Marketing Association (SMA), and Cynthia Strittmatter.

Any students interested in learning more about being a marketing major should stop by the next SMA meeting held every other Wednesday in Eberly room 309 at 7:30 p.m., or schedule to meet with the Marketing Department chair, Primal Bhagat.
