For the second year in a row, faculty and staff participation in the University Family Drive has soared past the goal, creating more support for IUP students and momentum for fundraising with alumni and friends.
A total of 796 faculty and staff members supported the Foundation for IUP through the drive. The total is the highest ever, supplying 220 different program and scholarship funds with new support. Of those who participated, 85 were new donors, and 40 different departments and offices reached 100 participation participation. In total, the impact of our community’s generosity
has exceeded $211,000.
“I am so happy that so many members of our university family
came together to invest in IUP students this year. Collectively, we are making a real difference
for our students. I know they are grateful. I am indebted to our volunteers
for all of their efforts—without them, the drive could not be as
successful,” said Emily Smeltz, Annual Giving director.
Time to Celebrate: Those who participated are invited to the victory
celebration in recognition of donors, volunteers, and the program areas that
reached 100 percent participation on Monday, April 13, from 1:30 to 4:30
p.m. in the Blue Room in John Sutton Hall. President Michael Driscoll will make
remarks at 3:00 p.m.
