An IUP professor, along with Early Childhood/Special Education candidates and Indiana Area School District teachers, presented at a national conference on professional development schools.

Professor Sue Rieg and members of the East Pike Professional Development School partnership, including Sue Brown and Erin Snyder (teachers in the Indiana Area School District), and Early Childhood/Special Education teacher candidates Kelly Beatty and Lindsey Zaken, presented their paper, “IASD IUP PDS with a 3SP,” at the National Professional Development School Conference in Atlanta, Ga. They presented the benefits and challenges of their newly formed Professional Development School.

Data that showed district children’s academic and behavioral gains from interventions provided by the teacher candidates during their Three-Student Projects were also shared.  Additionally, the team attended many sessions that will assist them in maintaining, growing, and strengthening their current partnership.
