Pao Ying Hsiao, assistant professor in the Department of Food and Nutrition, has been named a finalist in the American Society for Nutrition’s (ASN) Emerging Leaders in Nutrition Science Competition, a new program to recognize the highest quality research presented by young investigators and students, at ASN’s Scientific Sessions and Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology 2015.
Hsiao’s abstract is titled “Dietary quality in nulliparous women planning pregnancy: Results from the ISIS study.”
More than 1,000 abstracts were submitted to the Emerging Leaders in Nutrition Science Competition, which recognizes the top 20 percent highest scoring abstracts as finalists. Abstracts were rated by more than 200 nutrition scientists.
Finalists will compete in a poster competition on Saturday, March 28, at the ASN meeting in Boston. Grand prize winners will receive travel awards.
The Emerging Leaders in Nutrition Science Competition is organized by ASN’s Research Interest Sections, Global Nutrition Council, and Medical Nutrition Council and sponsored by PepsiCo.
