Reflective Practice Appy Hour

Please join your colleagues for an innovative session from 3:30 to 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, in the Susquehanna Room in the HUB. The topic will be “Engaging Students and Enhancing Instruction with Tablet Technology.”

It’s been a long winter. Kick off your Spring Break with a Reflective Practice Appy Hour! In the past, if students wanted to listen to native speakers to enhance language learning, record interviews with newsworthy individuals for a journalism class, or scan and share information for group discussions and projects, they might have had to access a variety of technological devices. Today, students do it all with their smartphones and tablets.

Join our panel of tablet-friendly IUP professors—Crystal Machado, Shijuan (Laurel) Liu, David Loomis, and Bob Sweeny—who will share their tablet-technology strategies to engage and empower students to enhance the educational value of their classes.

Please come to network, take a break, catch your breath, have a snack, and share your innovative ideas on tablet use in the classroom!

RSVPs are not necessary.

This event is for IUP faculty and TAs only.
