Ursula Jakubowska (Polish Academy of Sciences) and Krys Kaniasty published a paper titled “Post-communist transformation in progress: Poles' attitudes toward democracy” in Communist and Post-Communist Studies, 47(3-4), 399-407, 2014.

This research investigated how Poles perceive the post-communist political system of contemporary Poland. The majority of respondents (nationwide random sample, N = 400) generally approved the new democratic system in Poland. Multiple regression analyses showed that differential attitudes toward Polish democracy depend on respondents' age, their understanding of the concept of democracy, evaluations of democracy in general, and levels of political anomie.
