Simmons Presents on “Population Ecology of Ixodes Scapularis” at Mid-Atlantic Tick Summit IV

Anne Simmons and Tom Simmons attended the fourth annual Mid-Atlantic Tick Summit held at the National Wildlife Patuxent Research Refuge on February 25, 2015, in Laurel, Md. Tom gave a presentation on the “Population Ecology of Ixodes Scapularis in Mid-western Pennsylvania.”

The goal of the summit was to share research findings and foster collaborations. Over 100 participants were in attendance from universities, county and state health departments, federal agencies, branches of the military, industry, and Lyme disease organizations.

Funding for the summit was provided to the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Infectious Diseases Cooperative Agreement.
