IUP is committed to establishing and maintaining a community free from all forms of discrimination and harassment and is dedicated to promoting the safety and security of minors who visit its campus or participate in our programs. This year, changes in
federal and state law have created reporting responsibilities for campus employees, faculty, and professional staff in regards to Title IX and Protection of Minors.
In support of compliance with these regulations and to raise awareness, Valerie Mercado, compliance officer and Title IX coordinator, will host open training sessions for employees and students. Any employee or student who has not met their training requirement
for the 2014–15 AY are encouraged to attend, in addition to any employee or student who prefers to educate themselves on campuswide initiatives.
Attendance at one of these sessions will also meet the training requirement outlined in IUP’s Protection of Minors Policy. As required, “All authorized
adults or program staff working with minors are required to be trained on policies and issues related to minor safety and security on an annual basis.”
All trainings are held in Eberly Auditorium and available the following dates/times:
