performance combines Argentine chamber music performed by the Attacca Quartet,
original tango choreography, and commissioned projected animations and visual
artwork. Te Amo, Argentina features
music from the Latin Grammy award-winning cellist Antonio Lysy, as well as one
of the top tango couples in the world, Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo from
Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance and NBC’s
Superstars of Dance.
Te Amo, Argentina, which means “I Love You, Argentina” and
fitting for this Valentine season, uses Lysy’s autobiographical experiences as
the backbone for the show’s story arc and sends audiences through different
terrains and landscapes of Argentina. The show captures the passion of the
culture from the rhythms of the Andes Mountains to the city-street cafés of
Buenos Aires. The combination of the live performers with the original
animations weave together an inspiring homage to Argentina.
