Bundle up the family and come out for an exciting night of basketball at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex (KCAC) this Saturday, January 31, as the Crimson Hawks basketball teams take on Seton Hill!
The IUP Crimson Hawks encourage all active military, veterans, and their families to attend this game as we honor our military at these sure-to-be thrilling games. The women’s game will jump-start the night at 5:30 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 7:30 p.m.
All active military and veterans will receive free admission into both the women’s and men’s games by showing their military I.D. at the box office. Before the men’s game, the IUP ROTC will conduct a ground assault demonstration and ceiling repel that fans won’t want to miss! The ROTC will also present the colors for the national anthem, which will be sung by the St. Thomas More University Parish Choir. A special swearing-in ceremony will be included at halftime for the IUP ROTC.
$5 specialty sandwiches and burgers will be available from Baseline for all military. Sandwiches and burgers include the “Hawkinator,” a savory combination of kielbasa, pierogies, and spicy mustard; the “Black and Bleu” burger, and many other tasty treats.
In addition to honoring our military, the IUP Crimson Hawks will celebrate Boy Scout Night, sponsored by the Reschini Group, and our L’il Hawks Kid’s Club members will receive free admission to the women’s basketball game! Come early and jump in the jumbo inflatable which will be set up in Toretti Auditorium lobby!
Sharon’s School of Dance will perform at halftime of the men’s basketball game, and the IUP Pep Band will also be in attendance to get the crowd full of Crimson Hawk spirit. Families and fans will not want to miss this thrilling night of fun!
IUP students should also plan to be in attendance for Saturday night’s games. The Student Co-Op Association will once again sponsor the “Shoot for a Hundred” contest during the men’s game. One lucky student will have the chance to win $100 if they can sink a three-point shot. If they miss the shot, the $100 will go back into the pot for the next game’s “Shoot for a Hundred.”
