Award-Winning Teaching Tips: How to Get Your Excellent Teaching Recognized

Posted on 1/27/2015 1:22:26 PM

Excellent things happen every day in IUP classrooms. The Center for Teaching Excellence recognizes excellence in teaching with a series of awards each year. In this large group meeting, the application process will be quickly reviewed, and the 2014 award winners will present the outstanding teaching/learning innovations they implemented. With some prodding, they might even discuss how they prepared their winning proposals.

Faculty and teaching associates, please join us from 3:35 to 4:50 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4 in the HUB Monongahela Room to find out!

Our humble participants, whom we refer to as our “Panel of Excellence,” are as follows:

  • Laurel Black, of the English Department, who won a teaching award for Innovation
  • Dennis Giever, of the Criminology Department, who won a Living-Learning Award
  • Vida Irani, of the Biology Department, who won a Content Pedagogy Award
  • Lora Ott, of the Nursing Department, who won a Content Pedagogy Award

Take a break from the grind with a great group of colleagues who enjoy good talk about good teaching.

Oh, and enjoy some refreshments, as you learn and share!

RSVPs are not necessary.
