Michael Williamson (English Department) co-chaired a seminar, “Representing the Second World War, Genocide, the Holocaust: Modernist Confluences and Divisions,” at the 16th annual Modernist Studies Association Conference.

This interdisciplinary seminar explored tensions among artistic responses to the cataclysms of World War II, including representations of perpetration, resistance, victimization, memory, and silence. The seminar’s goal was to consider how divergent cultural expressions of World War Two affect meanings and practices of literary of Modernism.
