IUP Research Institute Reorganizes to Improve Assistance to Researchers

Posted on 11/11/2014 10:21:04 AM

Over summer 2014, the IUP Research Institute hired outside consultants to assess the RI processes, policies, procedures, workflow, workload, and other areas. The primary recommendation from the consultants’ visit was to change our structure and allow the grant and contract specialists (GCS) to focus on a specific area of research administration. As a result of these recommendations, effective Monday, November 3, 2014, the RI GCSs are focusing on either pre-award, post-award, or award/subaward negotiations and contracts. Please see the RI personnel page with the changes identified.

We expect these changes to better streamline our processes and improve efficiencies so that we can provide greater assistance to researchers and those who work to support the research infrastructure. Our goal is to continually improve our services so that IUP researchers have a positive experience with their research efforts. Please be patient with us during the transition period.

If you have any questions, concerns, or if you experience any issues during the transition, please contact Mark Berezansky directly at  mberezan@iup.edu, and he will be happy to address them with you.
