Sarah Brown, associate professor of Child Development and Family Relations, presented “Parenting with Technology” on October 17, 2014, at the “Inviting Ideas, Inspiring Innovation” conference hosted by the Pittsburgh Association for the Education of Young Children and by Allegheny County Family Support at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

Brown’s focus was to examine (1) how parents use technology, (2) if technology is making parents’ lives easier, (3) how media is used within families (e.g., as a parenting tool, to help occupy children, or to educate children), and (4) what role media plays in families’ together-time.
