David Wachob and Robert Alman’s paper, “Homeschool Children; Parental Influence, Cardiovascular
Health, and Body composition” has been accepted as a chapter for publication in the
and Adolescent Health Issues, by J. Merrick (Ed.),
Nova Science Publications.
The lack of public health knowledge available on the growing homeschool population
has prompted the research presented in this work. The chapter describes the overall health status of
homeschooling families, including both the parents and their children. Similar to previous work with public school
children, this current study found that the parents had a significant influence
on their children’s overall cardiovascular health and body composition.
